As if the things Donald Trump himself has said regarding the family of Captain Humayun Khan haven’t been offensive enough, now his former campaign manager is asserting that Captain Khan would still be alive if the Orange Menace was President of the United States.
Corey Lewandowski appeared on CNN earlier today and made this jaw-dropping statement during a discussion of the matter related to the Khan’s parents, who spoke at last week’s Democratic convention:
“If Donald Trump was the president, Capt. Kahn would still be alive today because we never would have entered the Iraq war in the first place. This is something that the Kahn family decided to engage in by going to the Democratic convention and telling their story.”
Actually, Trump initially supported the invasion of Iraq during the Presidency of George W. Bush and then later said it was a mistake after it was clear the war had spiraled out of control.
CNN host John Berman attempted to remind Lewandowski that Trump had attacked the fallen soldier’s mother for appearing on stage but not speaking during the Democratic convention. To that, Lewandowski, ever the asshole trying to exact revenge, replied:
“When someone attacks you publicly in front of the stage of millions of people, you have the ability to respond.”
Clinton supporter Christine Quinn then told Lewandowski:
“She didn’t say a word! This is ridiculous. It is outrageously un-American.”
Lewandowski:
“He does have the ability when someone attacks him personally and accuses him of something…he has the ability to fight back.”
Of course, since Lewandowski never served his country in any way other than being a massive jackass of a human being, he has no idea what is acceptable or unacceptable when it comes to how the families of fallen vets should be treated: With respect and honor.
Corey Lewandowski is a political hack and professional douchenozzle. He should be taken off the air at CNN and sent back to the rathole he crawled out of.
