Oh, Twitter! How we love you!

Last night Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump was on national TV trying to convince his voters that he knows what he’s talking about on immigration. That in itself is hilarious.

The speech came after Trump flew to Mexico to meet with President Enrique Peña Nieto. The meeting was reportedly subdued, without much to show for it except the usual photo-op.

You may remember that the previous Mexican President was pretty direct about that ridiculous plan for funding the wall. In fact, he had a lot to say about his intense dislike for Trump himself. He was absolutely NOT going to pay for the f*cking wall. No way.

With the new President of Mexico in place, though, Trump and his folks seemed to thin that things were about to change. So off he flew to Mexico City to set things straight.

After the men held their closed door conversation, they came out to matching podiums to speak.

Right then we should have known there was something fishy going on. The Mexican President told the crowd of reporters in the room that he had made it clear to Trump that Mexico would not be funding the wall.

Next Trump stepped up to the mic and said, “We didn’t talk about payment for the wall.” He said that funding talks would come at an unspecified later date.

Then he got back on his big, shiny jet and flew back to the U.S., where he tweeted this:

“High quality people.”(snicker).

He followed it up with this one:

Hahaha! So much for Mr. Diplomacy, huh?

Apparently President Nieto and Mr. Trump won’t be going to the prom together after all.

The reaction on Twitter was the best part of the whole event. Look at these!

Maybe now we’ll all be ready to admit that this guy will NEVER be a diplomatic leader who can work with our allies or our rivals.

He won’t even be able to tell which one is which!
