Reince Priebus: I ‘Go With The Flow’ But ‘Don’t Speak For Trump’ (VIDEO)

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus is between a rock and a hard place. There’s no doubt Priebus has one of the toughest jobs a Republican could have during this presidential year.

On Sunday, Aug. 28, Preibus distanced himself from Donald Trump’s remarks on his positions and campaign strategy. Priebus refused to answer hard questions about the Republican Party’s presidential nominee’s current policies.

On Meet The Press

Below is a video of Priebus giving a speech supporting and introducing Donald Trump.

Unlike the nominee himself, Priebus sounds thoughtful, reasonable, measured, even passionate about the GOP candidate. It’s too bad he doesn’t speak for him.

As Priebus says in an interview with Chuck Todd on NBC:

“I go with the flow based on what the campaign wants to do, I don’t speak for Donald Trump.”

In other words, Priebus is willing to do whatever it takes to get the GOP in the White House and keep as many Republicans there as possible.

It doesn’t mean he will clarify statements regarding Stephen Bannon and his alleged domestic violence charges.

It means he’ll comment or try to expound upon Trump’s ever shifting immigration policy. It means he’ll let Trump speak for himself.

What Priebus Will Say

Priebus was asked about Trump’s position on birthright citizenship. He replied:

“A nominee doesn’t have to adopt every single position and platform position of the Republican Party.”

This guy’s a diplomat down to his toes. Later in the interview with Todd on NBC, Priebus mentioned:

“I know where his heart’s at.”

That’s nice.

Although Priebus did add a comment regarding the tweet sent out Friday by Trump. The tweet referred to the shooting of basketball player Dwayne Wade’s cousin who was walking her child in a stroller at the time she was shot. Trump suggested the tragic incident in Chicago would lead many more African-Americans to vote for him.

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said:

“Democrats, I think, have been taking advantage of this vote and providing very little leadership to get things done in urban areas across America.”

I’m not sure how Democrats are “taking advantage” of the minority vote? Especially, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

Little Known Fact

Did you know her husband Bill can sing the Negro National Anthem or what is more commonly known as the Black National Anthem?

Did you even know such a thing existed? As a white woman, I didn’t.

Although Priebus won’t speak for him, I don’t think Trump could say (or sing) that.
