Ivanka Trump, daughter of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, finally broke her silence about the recent scandal concerning secret tapes where Trump bragged about sexually assaulting women.
During an interview with the Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit Ivanka Trump stated:
“He recognizes it was crude language. He was embarrassed that he had said those things and he apologized.”
Ivanka admittedly expressed that her father does not talk like that on a routine basis and you could tell she was shaken about the way he spoke.
“That’s not language consistent with any conversation I’ve ever had with him, certainly, or any conversation I’ve overheard. So it was a bit jarring for me to hear. And he was very sincere in his apology.”
If Donald Trump’s excuse to Ivanka and Melania were anything like his apology to the nation we can only conclude that he passed the blame onto to some unrealistic understanding of how the male species is supposed to speak in “locker room conversations.”
Nine women have come forward to this point all alleging that Mr.Trump groped and touched them in inappropriate ways without their consent. The entire Trump campaign denies all allegations and continues to mock the victims of these crimes.
The newest charade that the Trump campaign is pushing is the idea that these victims were planted by the Democratic party and that there is a vast conspiracy following him around. When Ivanka was asked about whether she believed this was the case she skirted the question and replied with:
“I will tell you that the media has been vicious. And we take it personally.”
Even with the mass amounts of press and attention the Trump children have gotten all of their life, Ivanka expressed how nothing can prepare the child of the candidate for just how difficult a campaign can be. She stated:
“I may have been naive going into this, but nothing in life prepares you for a parent running for the president of the United States of America nothing. There’s no training.”
Though Ivanka continues to be a staunch supporter, these comments come on the heel of Donald Trump’s wife, Melania, making a statement to CNN on her husband’s actions and the blame she lays on Billy Bush, Access Hollywood’s former host.
We all are waiting and wondering whether Ivanka and Melania have the stamina to make it through election day without breaking free of The Donald’s hold and just giving in to the disgust that America feels towards their husband and father. The explosion would be magnificent.
