Two WV Officials Forced to Resign After Racist ‘Ape In Heels’ Facebook Post (VIDEO)

Racist posts are not okay and the people of West Virginia have spoken. They said “You’re Fired” to Clay Mayor Beverly Whaling and nonprofit director Pamela Ramsey Taylor after a racist Facebook post by Taylor called First Lady Michelle Obama “an ape in heels.”

After Donald Trump’s win, Pamela Taylor went to Facebook and put up a status saying:

“It will be refreshing to have a classy, beautiful, dignified First Lady in the White House. I’m tired of seeing an ape in heels.”

Whaling commented on the racist post saying: “Just made my day, Pam.” Since then, Whaling did release a statement saying that her comment was “not intended to be racist at all” and she apologized for her comments “getting out of hand.” She added:

“I was referring to my day being made for change in the White House! I am truly sorry for any hard feeling this may have caused! Those who know me know that I’m not of any way racist!”

Both women’s Facebook accounts have since been deleted.

If you have to defend yourself in saying that you are not racist, you are probably racist. Her defense makes no sense, as she is part of the Democratic party in West Virginia, so why be happy for a Trump victory?

The people and their employers spoke out, and Taylor was removed from her position as director of West Virginia nonprofit agency Clay County Development. Then council members voted to accept the resignation letter from Whaling at their meeting.

The meeting had a few protestors, but it lasted less than 10 minutes. Clay Councilman Jason Hubbard said:

“I’d like to apologize to anyone who was offended and most certainly the First Lady. I’m sorry that this happened. The Town Council would like to condemn the horrible and indecent post that is the center of the controversy. This post is an individual and isolated act. This kind of racial intolerance is not what this community is about.”

Karma can be such a bitch, huh?
