Paul Krugman Says FBI ‘In An Alliance With Putin’ Swung The Election (TWEET/VIDEO)

Paul Krugman, a New York Times columnist and Nobel-winning economist, fired off a series of tweets on Thursday expressing his belief that the election was swung in President-elect Donald Trump’s favor by:

“…A faction of our own security sector in an alliance with Putin.”

Recent evidence suggests that Trump received a last minute bump in the polls, with many late deciders turning his way.

So it would seem that FBI Director James Comey’s ill-advised reopening of the investigation into former rival and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private server caused enough negative publicity to change the mind of a large portion of voters.

Russian Alliance?

The U.S. intelligence community has been quite vocal in their accusations of the Russian government being involved in the email hacks of members of the DNC and Clinton campaign.

In the weeks leading up to the election, WikiLeaks released thousands of these emails, shifting our nation’s focus from the many racist and misogynistic faults of Donald Trump, to a national discussion revolving around emails and a private server.

The head of the NSA, Admiral Michael Rogers, said that there shouldn’t be “any doubt in anybody’s mind” that another country tampered with the U.S. election.

Krugman seems to agree, and goes as far as suggesting that members of our own security sector may have been involved in an alliance with Russia to facilitate this security breach.

Given that Trump’s campaign team “were in contact” with the Russian government prior to his election as President, it is clear that Putin was hoping for a Trump victory.

Now that sources like Krugman and Adm. Rogers are suggesting Russia may have tampered with the election, it doesn’t seem that far-fetched.
