President-Elect Donald Trump held an off-the-record meeting today in the Trump Tower with anchors and executives from America’s five largest television networks that one source described as:
“… A f—ing firing squad.”
According to first-hand accounts that sources provided to the New York Post, Trump addressed the media as:
“… A room full of liars, the deceitful dishonest media who got it all wrong.”
Trump Lashes Out At CNN
About 30 to 40 top people from ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News, and NBC (along with MSNBC) were privy to this childish temper tantrum. CNN received special attention:
“Trump started with [CNN President] Jeff Zucker and said, ‘I hate your network, everyone at CNN is a liar and you should be ashamed.'”
Trump Administration Disputes Reports
Kellyanne Conway, Trump’s former campaign manager and current top aide, disputed the reports in the threatening manner that has become a hallmark of Trump’s attitude towards the media:
“It’s an off-the-record meeting, so whoever said that and mischaracterized it should think twice.”
Whether or not Trump’s administration is lying about happened in Trump Tower today, these reports come as no surprise for a man who threatened to open libel laws and sue the media for perceived defamation.
