Famed musician, Sir Elton John has again been unwittingly drawn into President-elect Donald Trump’s campaign and presidency.
Anthony Scaramucci, part of Trump’s transition campaign, stated that Elton would be playing at Trump’s inauguration in January 2017. This has staunchly been denied by Elton’s publicist, Fran Curtis in London. Elton is hugely successful musician and has been used as an endorsement for Trump many times without his permission.
At a fundraising concert for rival, former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton in October, John is reported to have made his feelings for Trump quite clear by saying:
“We need a humanitarian in the White House, not a barbarian.”
Scaramucci recently said on BBC’s HARDtalk
“Elton John is going to be doing our concert on the mall for the inauguration,”

Elton’s representative, Fran Curtis replied
“Incorrect. He will NOT be performing.”
Liberal America has reported before that Elton John had asked Trump to stop using his music at rallies and openly supported Clinton in the race to the White House. He is also not the only musician who felt this way.
Queen, The Rolling Stones, George Harrison, Adele, the list goes on and on.
There is a reason that so many people do not want to be associated with the president-elect. Elton John is openly gay and perhaps he thinks Trump is a “barbarian” for choosing anti-gay Pence as a running mate.
Perhaps it is the way he wants a blanket ban for all Muslims. The conflict is with radical Islam, not all Muslims, just like when white supremacists or the KKK are challenged, it should not be an attack on all white people. This is an important distinction.
Maybe it is the fact that he called some Mexican immigrants rapists.
Then again it could be the way he considers that the value of a woman, relies almost entirely upon her looks.
In this day and age we should not be talking about a president who says and believes these things. It is really about basic decency after all.
Anthony Scaramucci should perhaps check some facts before he starts listing people who will play at Trump’s inauguration, as they obviously don’t appreciate it. Here is Scaramucci’s response to pointing out his mistake on Twitter:
Let's drop the rhetoric. It was an honest impression that I got wrong. It was a fast paced interview and you can see I thought it was true. https://t.co/AWXzNVorcL
