WATCH: Magic Johnson Says Trump Must Learn To Not ‘Be A Dictator’ – Muslim Ban ‘Un-American’

Former basketball star Magic Johnson has spoken out against President Donald Trump’s latest action, the immigration ban. Johnson told TMZ that:

“It’s wrong to discriminate against people. We have a lot of great Muslim brothers and sisters who are here and doing a wonderful job of being great Americans.”

Johnson had been attending a fiftieth birthday on Sunday night when he made his feelings known about Trump’s latest orders. The sportsman continued, saying that this kind of policy will lead to Latinos being sent home, and said it was not “cool.” He also expressed concerns about the wall, African Americans and the treatment of women.

Johnson, who was once a star player for the Lakers showed how much he disapproves of the new policy with:

“He’s gotta learn that you can’t just be a dictator. We’ve never had a president like that. We have always had a president that brought the country together.”

The term ‘dictator’ has been thrown around a lot lately for a number of reasons. Trump is signing Executive Order after Executive Order. When Attorney General Sally Yates deemed his immigration ban illegal, Trump simply fired her and appointed a new one who would comply. He even skipped over someone to make sure of this.

This is not a reality show or a business.

Magic Johnson says he has even resorted to prayer that something will “click” with Trump or that someone in his cabinet will be able to get through to him.

Of the ban he said:

“This is not right. It’s not American-like it’s not who we are as people”

Like many celebrities Johnson was not a supporter of Trump before the election. In another interview with TMZ he said:

“Hillary has got to be president.”

When asked about what would happen if Trump became president, he said we would have to all work “together,” but these words are so poignant now. Trump’s actions show he does not work with the people, except perhaps maybe Steve Bannon – his beliefs seem to be all over these policies.

Now that Trump has put Bannon in the National Security Counsel in place of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the situation is becoming more and more ominous.
