Gloves Off! Pelosi Calls Bannon A ‘White Supremacist,’ Suggests Trump Get Mental Health Evaluation

The next time someone complains that Congressional Democrats aren’t being tough enough on the Trump administration, you might want to show them video of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi on Thursday. Pelosi blasted both Trump and his senior counselor, Steve Bannon, saying of the latter:

“It’s a stunning thing, that a white supremacist would be a permanent member of the National Security Council.

“What’s making America less safe is to have a white supremacist named to the National Security Council as a permanent member while the chairman of the Joint Chiefs and the director of national intelligence are told, ‘Don’t call us, we’ll call you.'”

Bannon, former CEO of the far right newsite Breitbart.com, has denied he’s a white supremacist, saying he’s “a nationalist. I’m an economic nationalist.”

Translation: Sure, I’m a white supremacist, but I talk about economics a lot so it won’t be too obvious that I support the KKK and neo-Nazis.

While she was at it, Pelosi also weighed in on alleged president Donald Trump, saying she would gladly support legislation which would require Trump, in order to be Commander-in-Chief and have the sole responsibility for the nation’s nuclear arsenal, take a mental exam. Republican Jason Chaffetz mentioned such a bill this week, telling the Washington Post editorial board:

“If you’re going to have your hands on the nuclear codes, you should probably know what kind of mental state you’re in.”

Pelosi said she agreed completely with Chaffetz, and added:

“I can’t wait until he introduces that legislation, to be able to join him as co-sponsor of that. I think it’s a very good idea.”

If ever there was a head of state who needed to be checked for mental health issues, it’s definitely Donald Trump. The man is a narcissist, a pathological liar, a bully, and an unindicted sexual abuser of women. He can be trusted with nuclear codes? The very thought will keep you up at night.
