Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling has a knack for keeping haters at bay. In addition to being an amazing writer, philanthropist, and activist, Rowling also has one of the best celebrity Twitter accounts around. Lately she’s been using the social media platform to voice her opinions about President Donald Trump’s administration, which has garnered some criticism. She quickly let everyone know that she is not having it by doling out some quips of her own.
Rowling used her quick wit and hilarious sarcasm to shut down calls to destroy her bestselling books:
Guess it's true what they say: you can lead a girl to books about the rise and fall of an autocrat, but you still can't make her think. pic.twitter.com/oB7Aq6Xz8M

She made it clear that she does not care if you burn her books or DVDs. She’ll even lend you her lighter:
Well, the fumes from the DVDs might be toxic and I've still got your money, so by all means borrow my lighter. pic.twitter.com/kVoi8VGEoK

The snappy British author called this person out for being ignorant and old-fashioned:
I seem to have woken up in the 90s. pic.twitter.com/g7Q3i2dSIz

She brilliantly slammed this detractor, who is clearly just a jealous troll:
*sighs* Well, who knows? If I try harder, I might be reincarnated as a lonely virgin hiding behind a cartoon frog. pic.twitter.com/EbocdxfJ5o

Even though she’s gotten a lot of criticism for some of her views, she knows how to stay sassy and positive. Rowling acknowledged her fans with this tweet:
I'd just like to thank everyone sending me lovely messages, which greatly outnumber the bad ones ? I'm now off to produce more kindling…

This isn’t the first time the popular author has expressed her views on Twitter. She has spoken out about LGBTQ rights, adoption, and support for single parent families, gaining lots of support for these important causes. When a fan asked about gay students at Hogwarts, Rowling responded with this gem:
.@claraoswiin But of course. pic.twitter.com/Galu47MT4X

She just keeps giving us more reasons to love her.
Many celebrities and intellectuals have spoken out against Trump, who has seen an unprecedented amount of opposition since taking office. Well known figures from Ashton Kutcher to Madeleine Albright have expressed their outrage at some of his first decisions as President. There are even people making a case for his impeachment. Although the political landscape is treacherous these days, it’s nice to know that there are so many smart, creative people speaking out for justice.
