When the Senate was debating the nomination of then-Alabama Senator to be Attorney General of the United States, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren attempted to read a letter from the late Coretta Scott King into the record. The letter was from 1986, when Sessions had been nominated to be a federal judge, and it included the accusation that Sessions, as a U.S. Attorney:
“Used the awesome powers of his office in a shabby attempt to intimidate and frighten elderly black voters.”
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell objected to Warren reading the letter and he, along with other Republicans, voted to silence her.
But in light of the recent revelations about Sessions having contact with the Russian ambassador during the 2016 campaign, Mrs. King now seems prescient. And lots of people on social media are reminding Sessions and his GOP allies that karma can be one mean dude when he pays a visit:
Coretta Scott King warned everyone that this and worse would happen.

Gee, what are the chances that someone like AG Jeff Sessions who fought with Coretta Scott King could POSSIBLY be a bad dude? pic.twitter.com/WSalCHYOhG

Remember when Republicans didn't think a letter from Coretta Scott King was reason enough to vote against Jeff Sessions as AG?

And yet Sen Warren was forced to sit down and shut up when she tried to warn the US Senate about Jeff Sessions, quoting Coretta Scott King!
