Karmic Justice: Coretta Scott King’s Words Have Come Back To Visit Jeff Sessions

When the Senate was debating the nomination of then-Alabama Senator to be Attorney General of the United States, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren attempted to read a letter from the late Coretta Scott King into the record. The letter was from 1986, when Sessions had been nominated to be a federal judge, and it included the accusation that Sessions, as a U.S. Attorney:

“Used the awesome powers of his office in a shabby attempt to intimidate and frighten elderly black voters.”

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell objected to Warren reading the letter and he, along with other Republicans, voted to silence her.

But in light of the recent revelations about Sessions having contact with the Russian ambassador during the 2016 campaign, Mrs. King now seems prescient. And lots of people on social media are reminding Sessions and his GOP allies that karma can be one mean dude when he pays a visit:
