Trump Still Refuses To Offer Additional Information On Alleged Wiretapping Claims (VIDEO)

It’s been a week since President Donald Trump’s wiretap claims, and we’ve yet to have any further clarification from our fair leader. In case you missed it, Trump claimed that former President Barack Obama wiretapped Trump Tower during the election last year, offering no evidence whatsoever to back up the veracity of his claims.

Despite a few photo opportunities throughout the week, Trump has made no effort to address the press’s questions about that bombshell of an accusation.

Since the original Tweets, Trump’s surrogates have been twisting in the wind, doing their best to avoid the barrage of questions. Poor Press Secretary Sean Spicer was hit broadside last week and then spent the rest of it fielding questions on the subject, and whether Trump himself was under investigation for any counterintelligence reasons:

“There is no reason that we have to think the President is the target of any investigation whatsoever.”

Of course, a staff member had to provide him this statement mid-press conference to save him. But the facts are far less clear, since the FBI won’t deny that he his is under an investigation of some sort. And the White House is about to see more pressure, this time from Congress.

Senator Dianne Feinstein is a California Democrat who sits on the House Intelligence Committee, and she’s very interested in an investigation. But not into Trump’s ridiculous wiretap claims, she wants a probe into Trump’s Russian connections. And that could mean issuing subpoenas for documents Trump has kept hidden so far: his taxes.

Feinstein said:

“The tax returns become a primary lead into a Russia connection — and that would be Russian money in his businesses… He’s visited Russia six times by his own voice on television. Who knows what the situation is?”

Sounds like a more solid lead than those wiretap accusations, to be honest.
