President Donald Trump has a reputation for rewarding loyalty and retaliating against opposition. We have seen him do this over and over again. The most notable of this
childish behavior is the ongoing slander from the “president” against the legitimate media and the praise for the fake media.
As we can imagine, the loss on the Healthcare reform battle left bruised egos and a trumper tantrum in the White House. According to Raw Story:
“The Daily Beast said on Sunday that aides like senior advisor Reince Priebus are urging Trump to move on, but the president is determined that Republicans who showed disloyalty to his administration must pay a price.”
This behavior is nothing new. Trump is an extremely petty person and is incapable of accepting responsibility for his long list of failures. He has a go-to list of people and/or groups that he blames any time he fails. The Republicans who did not fall in line for his Trumpcare bill has been added to his shit list.
The New York Times reported:
“When we spoke on the morning of March 7, Trump assured me that he would not bully the Obamacare-replacement bill’s loudest Republican critics, like the Freedom Caucus chairman, Representative Mark Meadows, on Twitter: ‘No, I don’t think I’ll have to,’ he said. ‘Mark Meadows is a great guy and a friend of mine. I don’t think he’d ever disappoint me, or the party. I think he’s great. No, I would never call him out on Twitter. Some of the others, too. I don’t think we’ll need to. Now, they’re fighting for their turf, but I don’t think they’re going to be obstructionists. I spoke to Mark. He’s got some ideas. I think they’re very positive.’”
This statement is so telling. First, the fact that a reporter has to ask the leader of the free world if he is going to bully someone to make them conform is despicable. Trump’s response is also telling. He is sending a message to anyone opposing him. He said “I don’t think I’ll have to.” This is his thinking. That there is actually a legitimate reason to go on Twitter and bully someone.
The open threats to “come after” someone and the endless personal attacks perfectly align with the intellectual and emotional insecurity that is the Trump trademark. The ongoing list of opposition has become so vast and diverse that he has no choice but to keep a written list of people joining the opposition.
How else could he keep track of a nation of individuals that oppose him? It grows daily. That alone speaks volumes. #Resist
