In case anyone was thinking that the rhetoric coming from this administration had reached its peak, we learned today that the incompetence is an onion. As soon as we get through one layer with blurred vision and watering eyes we are faced with yet another layer of insanity. Today’s White House Press Briefing was no exception.
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer decided that the first day of Passover would be a perfect time to de-legitimize the historic suffering of the Jewish people during World War II. Spicer, while attempting a lame criticism of Russia for backing Bashar al-Assad’s brutal regime in Syria, compared Assad to Hitler.
To be more accurate, Spicer indicated that Hitler showed some sort of restraint during WWII by avoiding the use of chemical weapons.
Raw Story reported Spicer’s statements:
“‘Someone as despicable as Hitler didn’t even sink to using chemical weapons,’ Spicer opined. He later acknowledged that gas chambers were used in concentration camps but insisted that Hitler ‘was not using his gas on his own people the same way Assad was.’”
Anyone with a basic knowledge of World History knows that Hitler’s use of gas on his own people led to the loss of millions of lives.
As New York Daily News reported:
“Hitler didn’t use chemical weapons on the battlefield, but used them as a tool of mass murder against his own civilian population, killing millions of Jews, gypsies, gay people, communists and other political prisoners using zyklon B and other poisonous gases.”
The Anne Frank Center released an official statement on Twitter calling for Spicer to be terminated immediately. #FireSpicer

Of course, this is not the first time that this administration has insulted the Jewish community. The White House drew sharp criticism for not mentioning Jews in its statement on international Holocaust Remembrance Day in January. One could argue that the first direct middle finger to the Jewish people was the hiring of a Breitbart Neanderthal.
The latest statement from Sean Spicer needs to be the last insult we have to peel back. Sean Spicer needs to go. Sure, it’s entertaining to watch Melissa McCarthy’s spot-on portrayal on Saturday Night Live, but the reality is that words have consequences and Spicer needs to face his.
