The Right Freaks Out At JLaw For Saying Hurricanes Are Trump’s Fault — Which She Never Said (VIDEO)

Conservatives on social media are freaking out because Jennifer Lawrence reportedly said that the recent hurricanes that have hit the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean are the result of Mother Nature’s “wrath” against American voting for Donald Trump. Trouble is, you’d be hard-pressed to find any audio or video evidence of Lawrence saying such a thing.

Lawrence was interviewed about her upcoming horror movie “Mother,” and asked several questions relating to other issues during the Q&A. Topics of political discussing ultimately came up, and JLaw explained her disdain with politicians not doing something about global climate change in the past or present.

Channel 4 News in the UK asked her to comment on the “changes that were happening” in the United States…and Lawrence didn’t hold back.

It’s scary, you know, it’s this new language that’s forming. I don’t even recognize it. It’s also scary to know that, it’s been proven, through science, that human climate change is due to human activity.

Lawrence also made mention of Hurricane Harvey and Irma, which have hit or are set to hit the mainland United States, and how they’re clear indicators that nature itself doesn’t care whether you believe in climate change or not — it’s real.

The only voice we have is through voting. [But] we voted, and it was really startling. You’re watching these hurricanes now, and it’s hard…not to feel mother nature’s rage or wrath.

FOX News seized on these comments, and published a story this morning with an unusual headline — strange, in that it wasn’t what the actor said at all.

“Hurricanes Irma, Harvey are nature’s ‘wrath’ for Trump victory, Jennifer Lawrence claims,” read the headline.

None of what Lawrence said suggested she blamed Trump, or his voters, for the hurricane itself. Rather, she said it was upsetting to see that denial of climate change continued to happen, and that some keep voting for candidates that will not do anything about it.

That didn’t stop conservative users on social media from voicing their outrage at the actor, however.

The FOX News headline that erroneously states that Lawrence blames Trump for the two recent hurricanes hitting the U.S. in as many weeks left an obviously sour taste in the mouths of those who read it. But again, it isn’t factual — the headline is a fraudulent spin of what Lawrence actually said, which is that it’s difficult to see people vote against candidates that recognize climate change is real when it’s so readily observable.
