Well if Donald Trump Jr. was worried about paying all those lawyers to defend him in the Russia investigation, this will help a bit. A Texas University is paying him $100,000 (yes, that’s 6 digits) to speak at their yearly lecture series.
Trump Jr. will be speaking on October 24 at the University of North Texas, which is about an hour’s drive from Dallas. According to the school’s newspaper, Trump will receive $100,000 for 30-minute lecture followed by a Q&A section and a VIP photo opportunity. In addition, the contract he signed provides for up to $5,000 in lodging and transportation costs.
Jr. is currently caught up in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian involvement in last year’s election. He admitted to meeting with a Russian lawyer in Trump Tower who offered sensitive information about Hillary Clinton. Now it looks like he’ll be able to pay those expensive lawyers looking to keep him out of trouble.
Oh, and by the way, Trump Jr. will be getting those “questions” well ahead of time, so there are no surprises. I’m sure his lawyers insisted on that.
Didn’t Texas just have a massive hurricane slam the lower part of their state? And I know that the University of North Texas is a public school. Seems like a waste of state funds, if I’m allowed to have an opinion. Which I do, because I’m a Texas resident who pays her taxes.
Money down the drain.
