Today in Trumplandia (the crazy world that exists inside Pres. Donald Trump’s brain), the news is that “DACA activists and Hispanics” are going to totally be falling in love with Republicans and “their president.”

Sir…that is not going to happen. Never. Ever.

Trump is referring to his proposed “deal” for DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals), better known as the DREAM Act, an Obama-era program that has protected approximately 800,000 young undocumented Hispanic people who were brought to the U.S. as children. From CNBC:

In September, Trump ended the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program with a six-month delay to force congressional action. If lawmakers cannot reach a solution by March 5, those immigrants brought to the U.S. illegally as children will no longer be protected from deportation or have the ability to work in the country.

 On Wednesday, bipartisan congressional leaders plan to meet with White House officials to discuss DACA and the looming Jan. 19 government funding deadline. Republicans have pushed for more border security funding in exchange for immigrant protections.

While Democrats have signaled they could support such a deal, Trump complicated matters last week by insisting on including money for his proposed wall on the U.S.-Mexico border in an agreement. Democrats have said they will not vote for funding for the proposed barrier.

Trump himself specifically said in his nutty interview with the New York Times last week that:

“Look, I wouldn’t do a DACA plan without a wall. Because we need it. We see the drugs pouring into the country, we need the wall.”

Um….so…to clarify, Trump appears to believe that Hispanic people are going to “fall in love” with him and his fellow Republicans nutters because Democrats are unwilling to vote for a measure that will fund Trump’s never feasible (as agreed by Rick Perry, Texas Republican and Trump Administration member) border wall?

As a reminder, I present this screengrab from a 2016 poll, and here’s a newsflash: the Latino support of Trump hasn’t changed since then and they ain’t never gonna love President ButtClown.
