Lindsey Graham Goes Rogue, Blames White House For Shutdown

Kentucky GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham is usually a typical jerk Republican, and even goes after Pres. Trump, but sometimes he shows some common sense. Like now.

Now he is warning that the White House staff is undercutting Trump and Congress’s ability to get an immigration deal, The Hill reports.

“Every time we have a proposal it is only yanked back by staff members. As long as Stephen Miller is in charge of negotiating immigration, we’re going nowhere,” Graham told reporters as he was going into a closed door negotiation with a bipartisan group of other senators.

He continued:

“The White House staff, I think, is making it very difficult.”

And he heard even Trump criticize Miller’s plan. He claims that Trump’s “heart is right on this issue.”

Doubt it.

He added that Miller “as been an outlier for years.”

Miller is a White House aide known for his super conservative views on immigration. He was previously an aide for then-Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama. Sessions is now the Attorney General.

Miller’s plan that he authored for Trump includes wall funding that Mexico was supposed to pay for and we all knew they wouldn’t. He also wants to crack down on so-called “sanctuary cities” that don’t comply with immigration law.

The White House attacked Graham, on Twitter, of course.
