A video tweeted by the Fire Drill Fridays Twitter account shows Field being taken away by police on the steps of the U.S. Capitol Building. In the tweet, the organization thanked Field for her activism.

On Sunday, Field’s acting career was recently celebrated at the Kennedy Center Honors.
Field has tweeted before in support of Jane Fond’s activism when she responded to an article about Fonda being arrested at a previous climate changed protest. Her tweet had a raised fist emoji in it.

Sally Field has announced that she’s moving to D.C. so that she can be “closer to the epicenter of the fight for our climate.”
This Friday’s protest focused on a “just transition” for communities and workers who are most affected by the world’s move to a clean energy economy. The organization is advocating for needs that displaced workers may have.
“[…] will include wage guarantees for displaced workers, pension guarantees, health insurance for families & additional financial support for those who choose to relocate or acquire the skills necessary for making the transition.”
As Crystal Lee Sutton AKA Norma Rae says, “I knew the union was the only way we could have our own voice,” @sally_field calls on a just transition away from a fossil fuel economy including good union jobs for a green future #firedrillfriday pic.twitter.com/vxWZz4AFlQ

I see Sally Field trending and I thought the worst, but it turns out that she was arrested for protesting for our collective future as a species.
