Jon Stewart Skewers Media Over Coverage Of Clinton’s Chipotle Trip

On the same day that Marco Rubio announced that he is running for President, Democratic hopeful Hillary Clinton visited a Chipotle in Ohio. Guess which story garnered more attention in the media?

As is typical of American media, the chicken burrito bowl, rumored to have come with black beans and a side of guac, stole the show. What could possibly be more exciting than Hillary Clinton ordering food?! She’s just like us! Look at her, waiting in line and eating fast food.

And in typical Jon Stewart fashion, the Daily Show ripped the media to shreds. Stewart pointed out that there was an “important Latino political story” making news on Tuesday, but it was not Hillary Clinton eating at a Chipotle. As Jon said,

?How could Rubio have known that on the exact same day he was launching his candidacy, Hillary Clinton would eat lunch??

I don’t know if the lack of attention given to Rubio’s announcement is an acknowledgment of how Rubio doesn’t stand a chance, or if it is an acknowledgment of how strong a candidate Clinton is, but either way, this could make for a very long political season leading up to the elections next year. At least the Daily Show will have plenty of material!

For now, check out the clip of Jon Stewart skewering the media over their coverage of Hillary’s riveting trip to Chipotle:
