Huckabee quoted?a line from a MLK Jr. essay:

? ? ? ? ? ?”…an unjust law is no law at all.”

It is not unlike Huckabee to pull out random quotes to validate his personal beliefs. He was quick to use these words to denounce the validity of same-sex marriage and the law itself, as he stated that a person that has a conscientious objection to the marriage should be excused from?honoring?licences or issuing them.

When asked about civil disobedience, he?said:

“I don’t think a lot of pastors and Christian schools are going to have a choice. They’re either going to follow God, what they truly believe, or they will follow civil law…. I do think we’re going to see a lot of pastors who will have to make this tough decision. You’re going to see it on the part of Christian business owners, you’ll see it on the part of Christian university presidents, Christian school administrators.”

Essentially, he is saying that despite his sheltered views and inability to change, Christian businesses everywhere will have?to change.

As outrageous as his claims may be, many people will rally with him?because he claims to be a constitutionalist; yet, he continues to challenge same-sex marriage even though it is now guaranteed under the 14th Amendment.?The only way for Conservatives to avoid this is to break the amendment for the sake of their own interests, which would make their actions unconstitutional.

That’s why no longer will Progressives be blamed for being unconstitutional, because now we stand together and fight for equality across the United States. Same-sex marriage is now guaranteed under the 14th amendment, and we can finally say that equality has won.
