Chances are you’ve never heard of Brian Dennis Dutcher from Wisconsin. I hadn’t until this morning, and now that I know who he is and what he made the news for, all I can do is shake my head and chuckle.
Dutcher went on social media and announced that it was his “Constitutional duty” to kill President Obama. And for that, he was convicted last week of writing a Facebook comment about assassinating the President when he learned of an upcoming presidential visit. Oh, and Dutcher also made sure to tell a security guard he would was going to shoot the President when he arrived.
Back in June of 2015, Dutcher posted this bit of hatred, saying he had to kill President Obama so his daughter might be able to “live free.” It only gets crazier from that point:
Dutcher went into even greater detail with other posts he made on Facebook, even urging the Secret Service to “step out of the way long enough for someone to take the shot.” But wait, there’s more:
While he was at it, Dutcher also made sure to mention that he had lots of guns, some mortars, and even plastic explosives. Yeah, because saying that online would never ever draw the attention of say the ATF and FBI:
And yet, despite Dutcher’s wanting to pretend he’s Rambo, when the time came and he was about to carry out his plan, he decided to use a slingshot with a ball bearing as his ammo. As a Secret Service agent testified at Dutcher’s trial:
“He said he was very accurate with a slingshot. His true intention was to circumvent security and figure out how to shoot (Obama) with a slingshot.”
Dutcher the Dunce will be sentenced in March for his crimes, and faces a very long sentence. Perhaps that will give him the time to reflect on what a massive moron he is.
