Police Arrest An American Citizen As A Terror Suspect In North Alabama (VIDEO)

A tip from a citizen led to the arrest of 22-year-old terror suspect Aziz Sayyed in Huntsville, Alabama. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is releasing very few details about the case.

Sayyed is an American citizen living in Huntsville. He is originally from North Carolina. The authorities have said that this eliminates any threat to the Huntsville and the surrounding area.

He is charged with soliciting and providing support for an act of terrorism.

His neighbor, Jeffery Alarcon, said:

“It’s scary not knowing who you live right next door to. You never know their back story or what they’re capable of.”

“I’m just glad they got them before they were trying to mix some explosives or something and something go horribly wrong and blown up both apartment complexes.”

Police Chief McMurray said:

“The best community policing you can get in an area like North Alabama, Madison County is if you see something, you need to tell us. You need to say something.”

He added:

“That went to another person. They called their local law enforcement and luckily, we have this joint relationship with the federal government and we all work these situations together to the end. This one was a very successful end because it was concluded before it got out of hand. Thank you so much.”

The Huntsville Police and the FBI are jointly investigating the case.

Another neighbor said:

“He was a nice guy. You know, every time he’d come down we’d talk about the weather and the cat.”

Another neighbor said:

“I’m glad it’s over with and I hope they don’t let him back in here.”

The threat included the city of Huntsville, the surrounding county, and the army base, Redstone Arsenal.

Chris Colster, U.S. Army Garrison, Redstone Arsenal spokesman said:

“We do not discuss the installation’s security conditions. We always appreciate the close work and cooperation within our law enforcement community which keeps Team Redstone safe and secure each and every day.”
