Watch 90 Seconds Of Beauty Unfold In This ‘Bear’ Experiment (VIDEO)

Okay, I admit it, after watching this PSA (public service announcement) video by Pro Infirmis, I was toast; especially after the first great big bear hug was given to — a great big bear

Yes, there is a huge cartoon-looking bear standing in the middle of a town square. This gigantic lovable beast stands quietly, then begins to hold out his arms, as one would asking for a hug. At first, people go about their business. Of course, the children are fascinated and can’t resist staring. Then a young man walks up with a smile, and hugs the bear. Then a little child runs towards the bear. One after another, more follow and approach the bear to give and get hugs. ??What does this mean? It means we all innately need to love, and be loved. And the power of touch has been proven to heal. In a recent study:

Researchers from the University of Carolina study also found that hugging instigates an elevated release of oxytocin, which is known as the ?bonding? or ?cuddle? hormone and prompts loving and caring feelings. Some studies have shown that it also reduces blood pressure. Another study that took place in 2000 showed that hugging babies while they were given blood tests made them cry less and kept their heart rates steadier. Both elevated levels of cortisol and high blood pressure have been linked to various diseases, including heart disease, so not only does hugging feel great, it’s good for our hearts, too. This video is also about treating everyone with love, regardless of age, color, handicap, gender… We need not disguise ourselves, as this young man did, to be accepted, get closer, and unite with others humans.

So next the time you see a big giant lovable bear in the middle of a town square … Okay, I know – the odds are that won’t happen. How about this; The next time you see someone who looks like they need, want, or could use a hug, go ahead and hold out ?your arms and add, (always good to ask) “Can I give you hug?” You might be surprised how often people will smile, hold out their arms, and accept your offer. And you will both love how good it feels.
