Oklahoma Has Second Pipeline Explosion In Two Months (VIDEO)

Just two months after a natural gas pipeline explosion near Kiowa, where Oklahoma exploded into a giant fire ball, the same happened nearly 300 miles away, in the small town of Rosston. Late Tuesday night, a natural gas pipeline, supplying gas to surrounding areas, exploded unexpectedly, sending a ball of fire 5o feet into the sky. The burning fires could be seen 70 miles away, and residents in the surrounding area were immediately evacuated.

Over 75 Firefighters from both Oklahoma, and Kansas were called to the scene on Tuesday night to attempt to get the raging fire under control, and push local residents to safety. The fire burned throughout the night and into Wednesday morning before it burned itself out. The pipeline was shut off immediately after the explosion for safety reasons, but no service was interrupted.

Residents from the town of Rosston were allowed back into their homes between Wednesday morning and through the night. The safety of these pipelines has been an ongoing discussion both privately amongst oil and gas protestors and the federal government. Little to no safety regulations are enforced with these types of pipelines, leaving the opportunity for disaster high on the list of concerns.

No injuries were reported from the event and authorities are still unable to pinpoint the cause of the explosion. Also,?no word as of whether a deeper investigation on natural gas pipelines safety will be addressed, has surfaced. Watch the news report here:
