Christopher Wright, one of America’s youngest mayors, was shot outside his home around 10 p.m. Thursday in Dawson, Ga. The shooting is being described as an attempted robbery.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and local police department confirm that multiple Crawford Street residents of Crawford Street reported shots fired. Witnesses claim that the mayor was shot in the leg several times and is expected to return to office.
Wright was taken to a?Pheobe Putney Memorial Hospital, He’s reportedly in stable condition and awaiting surgery.
