Last Saturday night, Blockbuster stores ended in-store rentals forever. The first store opened on October 26, 1985 in Dallas, Texas. According to a Tweet by the company, the last movie ever rented was This is the End, a Seth Rogen comedy, in Hawaii. Hopefully the company can go out on this light note. As for those of us who grew up in the miraculous Blockbuster era, well…we’ll miss them.
