Obama Ricin-Letter Suspect Faces New Charges

ricin letter

James Everett Dutschke, the former Mississippi Republican State Representative candidate who is in jail, accused of sending ricin-tainted letters to President Obama, Mississippi Senator Roger Wicker, and Judge Sadie Holland, is??now facing additional charges. The former Martial Arts instructor and accused child molester has been in jail since April. Dutshcke is accused of not only attempting to poison the President and two other elected officials, but he is also accused of attempting to frame local Elvis impersonator Paul Kevin Curtis. The first person arrested in the ricin scare was Curtis, but he was later released after investigators suspected that he was framed by Dutschke.

Investigators now believe Dutschke attempted to frame Curtis a second time, this time from his jail cell. Investigators allege that he tried to get someone to again send a ricin-tainted letter to Republican Senator Roger Wicker, in the hopes that Curtis would be blamed for it.

Dutschke seems to have a problem with vengeance. In addition to continually trying to frame Paul Kevin Curtis and trying repeatedly to poison a US Senator, Dutshcke also allegedly tried to poison the mother of the Democratic candidate who defeated him when he ran for state representative in 2007. He lost that race 68-27 percent to Steve Holland, the son of Lee County Judge Sadie Holland. He is accused of sending ricin-tainted letters to Judge Holland earlier this year in addition to the potentially lethal letters he sent to Senator Wicker and President Obama. Now, Dutschke faces more charges stemming from his latest botched attempt to frame Paul Kevin Curtis yet again.
