Improv Everywhere?specializes in ?massively organized pranks in public places.? Based in New York City, the troupe strives to create ?scenes of chaos and joy? and they’ve executed more than 100 missions utilizing tens of thousands of agents. Many of their pranks are edgy ? they’re behind the viral ?no pants subway ride? videos ? but this particular one is heart-warming.

From their site:

For our latest mission, we recreated the famous ?triple dog dare? scene from A Christmas Story on an NYC subway car. Instead of licking a flagpole, our character licked a subway pole. Using a prosthetic tongue with a magnet inside, we were able to get his tongue to appear stuck to the pole, much to the surprise of New Yorkers on the train.

The scene was enacted using a prosthetic tongue with a magnet inside. The crew set up hidden cameras and the fun began. Most people realized that it was a scene and the smiles all around indicate that. They even had a real NYC fireman in full fireman gear as an improviser.

This video is the last installment of their?Movies in Real Life?series that has included scenes from Rocky, Indiana Jones, ?Harry Potter, and more.
