I was a child of the 80’s, a period that seemed so drab at the time, but is now apparently HUGE with teens. In the 70’s we were obsessed with the 50’s and 60’s. In the 80’s, we loved to dress up in the flower child style of the 70’s. Since this seems to be a trend, it’s no wonder that Annalisa Hartlaub undertook this amazing school project for her photography class at Ohio State University.

Hartlaub told the Huffington Post this:

“I’ve always been fascinated, and a bit infatuated, with counterculture and how it shapes society and mainstream culture as well. So I decided to mix that interest with my love of fashion, makeup, and photography to create something.”

Hartlaub’s photos show two looks for each decade — mainstream culture and counterculture.
