Watch What Kids Do When Put In A Room With 2 Dolls – 1 Black, 1 White

This video is completely shocking. Not because it’s kids — these children are too young to be held responsible for their thoughts and opinions. It’s shocking because?the perception?of children?too deeply reflect the mindset of the society in which they live.

In a study in Mexico, children were put individually in a room with two dolls: one white baby doll and one black baby doll. We’re generally taught that children “don’t see color.” Wrong. These kids do see it and they have opinions about the different colored dolls.

These children do not even know why they feel as they do about the different colored dolls. ?Very disturbing and a discouraging reflection on society.

This video was filmed as a part of a program called “Racismo en Mexico” (Racism in Mexico) and was an experiment replicating that designed by Kenneth and Mamie Clark in the 1930s in the U.S.

It’s important to note that this video was produced in a “space of trust and the children answered with complete freedom.” The parents of the children gave their consent for this video to be filmed and used to raise awareness about racism.

Be sure to hit the CC at the bottom right of the YouTube video so that you can see the English subtitles.
