Recently, in Little Rock, Arkansas, two police officers went above and beyond the call of duty in order to help an old man surprise the love of his life. It was a spontaneous moment that has touched many, and is more representative of the majority of police officers than the tales of appalling behavior being reported of late.

When Melvyn Amrine, suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease, decided to take a walk, his wife Doris notified the police and requested their help in finding him. Sgt. Brian Grigsby and Officer Troy Dillard found Melvyn without much delay and attempted to take him home.

Melvyn wanted no part of that mess – he had a mission. Not quite knowing how to handle the situation, the officers found out what Melvyn’s special mission was and decided to help him accomplish it.

The rest of the amazing story is in the video.
