I’m not crazy about Joan Rivers. I’ve enjoyed some of her work and she can be a funny lady, but she tends to be more crass than class. Her recent rant about the deaths of ?Palestinian civilians is no exception. She says that she has no sympathy for those killed because they had sufficient warning to evacuate and they did not. They therefore?deserved to die, according to Ms. Rivers.

Yeah, she said that.

“They started it. We now don’t count who’s dead. You’re dead, you deserve to be dead.”

She ended her rant with “at least the ones who were killed were the ones with the very low IQs.”

According to TMZ, she later recanted.

Joan says in a statement … she was “totally taken out of context. What I said and stand behind is, war is hell and unfortunately civilians are victims of political conflicts. We, the United States, certainly know this as 69 years later we still feel the guilt of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.”

She adds, “Along with every other sane person in this world, I am praying for peace.”

No, Joan, that’s not what you said. Not at all.
