After recent release from a Florida mental hospital in Nov. 2014, followed by Jaclyn Stapp’s filing for divorce that same month, Scott Stapp’s behavior today indicated a ?very, very ill? status, she told local police. In a 40-minute 911 call also participated in by her sister, Jaclyn said:

?He thinks they’re trying to kill him, and he has a bunch of paperwork in his backpack that he’s a CIA agent and he’s supposed to assassinate Obama.”

Police did respond, but the 41-year-old singer called 911 shortly after his wife did, claiming she had stolen money from him and was attempting to have him detained to complete the theft. Stopped while attempting to flee on a bicycle, he also told officers that his wife had stolen his truck.

Responding police did not find him to be mentally unstable, and refrained from honoring the requested psychiatric hold.

Stapp’s alleged threats are similar to comments he made in a Nov. 2014 interview, in which he claimed Obama was responsible for his recent tax woes.

“In 2012 I was doing a promotional tour for my book ‘Sinner’s Creed’ and went on Fox News and expressed a little?concern and disappointment with President Obama. Within two months of that public statement, that’s when the IRS began to freeze my accounts. I believe that the IRS situation is definitely a result of me expressing my dissatisfaction with President Obama. Absolutely, 100 percent.”

Jaclyn Stapp filed for divorce last month, stating Scott’s ongoing use of illegal drugs led him to become suicidal and a threat to others. In the divorce proceedings she did?also file a request that he be placed in a mental institution for a 60-day evaluation.

Stapp led Creed from 1993 to 2004, and again from 2009 to 2012. He’s been married to the former Miss New York since 2006. In 2007, he was arrested for domestic violence against his wife, but charges were later dropped. They have two children, and Scott has a son from a previous marriage, as well.

Last month, he told People Magazine that he was financially broke and living in a cheap motel.
