If you’ve been reading Liberal America for a while, you may know that I’ve been a single mom for a long time. I date sporadically when I have time, and I’m always open to common sense dating advice. Who isn’t? A single woman’s worst nightmare, however, is dating advice from Fox News.
Yes, it seems that our friends at Fox are now in the business of relationship and dating advice, specifically in regards to how women should cater to their men. I actually happen to agree with that in one respect: I think two people in a relationship should cater to each other. A mutual admiration society, if you will. But, well, Fox sort of just puts all of the relationship success on women, of course.
?Ladies, listen up,? Fox & Friends host Clayton Morris said. ?Ladies, we’re talking to you. If you still don’t have a New Year’s resolution then could this be it??
Morris points to a new dating guide titled ?Single Man, Married Man.” The guide was written by men, of course, and?Morris suggests that women can get??honest advice on how to get a husband? by reading it.
Co-host?Peter Doocy?chimed in:
?No matter where a woman was in life, she should always be able to cater to her man’s needs.?
Female co-host Ainsley Earhardt agreed.
?Yeah, I do want to be a better wife.”
Doocy suggests that women stroke a man’s ego.
?Well, how about this one?? Doocy continued. ?When he gets his ego stroked, he’ll be more inclined to love you more.?
Earhardt?vehemently agrees and exclaims “That’s true!”
?We had a lady on earlier saying, give to give,? Earhardt explained. ?And that’s the thing you have to remember. You’re giving to your husband because you want to, not because you’re expecting something in return.?
However, the ego stroking suggested by Doocy seems to be more about?attending to a man’s physical needs.
?[…] prepare his meals, draw him a bath and massage his feet every now and then.?
He added:
?All in for foot massages,? Doocy added.
Yeah, me too, Doocy. Now get down on your knees and put your nose to the floor and massage my feet as they rest on the back of your neck. (kidding….haha)
Morris lets us know that he has his woman in her place and that his wife “does cook, and she does give me foot massages.”
?My wife is at home taking notes right now,? he insists. ?Absolutely. She already does cook meals. She’s a fantastic cook.?
