Amazing Video Shows Marine Being Attacked By Philadelphia Man With A Baseball Bat

An amazing video of a Marine being attacked and defending himself from a Philadelphia man, armed with a baseball bat, is making it’s rounds again. Captured by a street camera in May of 2014, the attack ends with the Marine showing some amazing restraint after being attacked.

While it is unclear what started this confrontation, judging by the language, it seems to be the classic case of male bravado, from both sides, escalating to unnecessary violence. Unfortunately for the bat-wielding man, this act of aggression did not go the way he thought it would.

While the video is just under three-minutes, the video does capture a verbal back and forth, as well as an aggressive face-to-face confrontation. During the altercation though, the man can be seen running to what appears to be his residence. Within a mere 23-seconds, the man reappears with a baseball bat running towards the Marine.

At this point the man can be seen swinging the bat at the Marine with full force. After successfully evading the bat and pinning the attacker against a parked vehicle, the Marine ends the confrontation with what seems to be a rear chokehold.

The Marine then retrieves his phone and appears to call 911 as he stays with the man. With everything that happened from beginning to end, the Marine showed great restraint in his response to a potentially deadly attack.

So in the end, while in a perfect world there would be no violence, this video shows us just how dumb senseless violent aggression looks. It also shows us that not everyone, including veterans, are looking for any reason to cause unnecessary harm to a fellow human being.
