Lebron James isn’t the first basketball superstar who has a child trying to follow in his foot steps. But 10-year-old Lebron James Jr. just may be the first to get college offers before even attending high school.
Now I’m not making assumptions about this kid’s inteligence, maybe he has an off the chart IQ. I just don’t think his mind is what colleges are eyeballing?when they are sending his father letters.
It’s no secret that colleges are looking for that golden attraction that will draw in donors and big money. This story is more than a story about a possible future NBA second?generation superstar. It’s a story about how so many colleges have abandoned the ideals of bettering society through offering “higher education” and have become nothing more than booster club hustlers looking for more profit.
Meanwhile tuition for the average student keeps going up and they leave college with moutains of debt. But hey at least they attended the same school as Lebron James Jr., so it’s all good right? Here is what Lebron James, Sr. said, via the?Washington Post:
“He’s already got some offers from colleges,” James, who skipped college to turn pro, told reporters Tuesday. “It’s pretty crazy. It should be a violation. You shouldn’t be recruiting 10-year-old kids.”
