Fat Girl On Tinder — An Experiment

The?general?assumption is that thin, attractive women have an easier time finding decent men to date. But is this true? Davison, the owner of the popular YouTube channel Sexperimental LOLPervs, put it to the test.

Davison?is an average woman — thin and attractive. She took one of her own photos and Photoshopped her face to make herself look “chubby.” She then created a Tinder profile for “Chubby Mary.” She’shocked by what she discovered.

“I sat on my Tinder profile with Chubby Mary and what I was astounded to find is that within two minutes, I was already getting a ton of matches, and that in a way just shows my bias. The fact that I thought that as a chubby woman, I wouldn’t have it as easy as I do as a thinner woman. That’s sad that I would believe that. That maybe I’ve been socially conditioned to think that fat is less beautiful and chubby means that you’re less desirable. There are always people out there who will want and desire you.”

On day two of her experiment, Davison?still couldn’t believe how many responses Chubby Mary was getting — and they weren’t loser guys, either. They were charming and polite. Davison says that she’s been forced to shift her paradigm.

“I am sorry that I thought that it might be harder for chubby girl to get dates, because it’s not. And that makes me a skinny bitch, maybe.”

She does say something cringe-worthy when she suggests that maybe “Chubby Mary” got a lot of responses because men are less picky when it comes to just sex.?This whole segment (and I) could have done without that comment (and attitude).

I was a skinny chick for more of my life than I’ve been a chubby chick and I can attest that?as a chubby chick, I get as much attention from men as I did when I was a skinny chick. I didn’t really expect that and it was a pleasant surprise. Love yourselves, my people! Be happy, be healthy, and above all, be confident. Confidence is the sexiest thing of all, I’m told.
