McDonald’s Idea Of Treating Burns Will Really Piss You Off

If you burned yourself at your fast food job, what would you expect your manager to do? I would expect a manager to go get a well stocked first aid kit and do whatever protocol called for that person to do. Right? We’d all expect this. Right?

McDonald’s doesn’t.

Upworthy?shared a video from FightFor15 which is the organization that protests the low wages McDonald’s pays its employees. To say the least, it’s despicable.

In the video, several McDonald’s employees are interviewed and talk about?disposing grease they don’t have the proper protection for and how their grease disposal machine is broken. This means?they are disposing of dangerously hot grease in a manner that should NOT be happening.

Two employees describe how they suffered burns while working and what their manager said to do about that burn. No, it didn’t involve cream, bandages, washing, aloe, etc… In fact, they explained the first aid kits were barely stocked with first aid items. What did the manager do then?

The manager told them to put mustard on it.

So apparently, mustard is an old-time remedy for burns. However, even the website that talks about it being a remedy states:

“A severe burn should always be treated as a medical emergency.”

That means you don’t use condiments.

McDonald’s had annual revenues of $27.5 billion in 2012. The profit from that was $5.5 billion. Yet, their stores have empty first aid kits and they tell people to put mustard on burns?
