D.L. Hughley Breaks Down In Emotional Interview About Son With Aspberger’s

We all should know who D.L. Hughley is. He was one of the?Original Kings of Comedy and stood on stages nationwide performing for sold out arenas. He made us laugh. A lot. My mom just referenced a joke he made the other day in his routine actually. I’ve never seen his sitcom show? The Hughleys,?but I’m sure it was funny.

Despite his comedic genius, you got a?view of the real human being behind the laughter in the?Oprah: Where Are They Now?”?interview when he started talking about his son, Kyle, who has Aspberger’s syndrome.

In?the emotional interview, Hughley spoke about a milestone his son made at 26 years of age that we would never consider anything but normal for anyone else. He offered to put gas in the car. Though he has graduated college and works, everything must be done in a strict schedule. Getting gas was outside of that schedule.

“He said ‘Daddy, I’ll do it.’ I’m a nervous wreck… So he comes back in and he gives me the receipt and the keys… And I could not stop crying, because he did something he was afraid to do… I just didn’t believe he could do it. He did it.”
