America is getting older at the same time that it’s getting more dangerous, and criminals preying on senior citizens is a growing problem. This week in Florida, a surveillance video captured a man armed with a knife robbing an elderly woman in an elevator, and when he turned to exit, the door closed in his face. He had to ride the rest of the way down (or up?) with her. It was mightily awkward, and I’m sure terrifying for the lady.

Authorities are searching the man shown in the video, who they say followed a 77-year-old woman into the elevator and took out a knife, Broward Sheriff’s Office officials said.
When he demanded her purse, she turned it over without question. When the elevator stopped, he hurriedly exited.
The suspect shown on surveillance camera shows:
“[…] a black male with a medium build, standing approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall. He had a short haircut, wore dark clothes, dark sunglasses and a dark baseball hat with an “A” on the front. The knife was a standard kitchen knife.
OK this looks kinda comical. I know. What idjit decides to do a robbery in an elevator? But humorous though it may be, it would be terrifying.
