At different points in my adult life, I’ve lived without television and the internet. To sum it up, it sucked. It was a boring existence, and I missed out on a multitude of hilarious cultural things that I should?know about but am just now discovering. I missed the first three seasons of House for god’s sake.?So, I know I’m a little late to the game. I apologize for that, but?this is hilarious and a trip down memory lane isn’t a bad thing.

Award-winning comedian Sacha Baron Cohen is known for the fictional characters he’s played throughout his career, especially the fabulous Br?no Gehard, a “flamboyantly gay Austrian fashion reporter.” I have only known?Cohen as King Julian from Madagascar –?you know you just heard “I like to move it move it” in your head. Now retired as a character, Br?no?was known for?fabulously interviewing unsuspecting people, pushing buttons, and blowing up comfort zones.

So, seeing an over the top, fabulously gay man interview an obviously uncomfortable “gay converter” definitely pushes those comfort zones and is brilliant, especially when asking the pastor if he’d like a lap dance. Br?no?asks him a multitude of questions on what Christianity views as gay and sinful and what is deemed acceptable and godly.

I would normally lean towards believing this was a setup; however, the pastor’s palpable uneasiness with having to answer questions regarding homosexuality seems pretty legit. If it’s a setup, good job Pastor Quinn!

So with the possibility of gay conversion therapy being ruled as consumer fraud and a huge victory for LGBTQ Americans in sight, let’s watch the satirical Br?no put one of those “gay converters” on the spot.
