You would think that when the United States Supreme Court tells you to do something, you’d get busy and do it ASAP.
But not Rowan County, Kentucky, clerk Kim Davis. Even though she is clearly in contempt of court for still refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, she remains adamant in her opposition.
On Thursday, Davis is ordered to appear before a federal judge to explain why she so blatantly violates repeated rulings from the federal bench.
Until then, Twitter users have fired back at Ms. Davis with some hilarious and on-point words for her. Take a look:
Honestly, I feel sorry for Kim Davis. Imagine your greatest accomplishment in life involving stealing joy from people. Just makes me sad.

There are not enough words to describe the idiocy, lunacy, and double standards of #KimDavis. #DoYourJob #ArrestKimDavis — Matthew Giberti (@matthewgiberti) September 1, 2015
Kentucky clerk Kim Davis denied marriage licenses to gays “under authority of God, Who speaks only to me in English with a Southern accent.”

However, there was a small minority of Twitter users who did offer support for Davis’s actions:
I support Kim Davis like I would support a clerk who wouldn’t sign a form allowing a box car into Auschwitz, “law” or not. — Bryan Fischer (@BryanJFischer) September 1, 2015
