The Coca Cola corporation has released a beautifully crafted short film by the one and only Milk screenwriter, Dustin Lance Black.
The video portrays two average teenage boys going about what most consider a normal day in the lives of teenagers. However, as the short film progresses, the audience, as well as the main character’s best friend, begin to pick up on the main character hiding who and what he is texting. Without spoiling anything, I can say that the short film warms the hearts of all those watching, while also dealing with a serious issue.
The Coca Cola corporation has surprised us all with their ability to do something that may not be in the best interest for their profits, but in my estimation this is just a smoke screen for their constant betrayal of science in the name of profit. However, this short film is hopefully creating a message some friends of LGBTQ+ members may be able to relate to. I sincerely hope the message of this video is able to resonate with both LGBTQ+ members, in the sense that they can see acceptance is a reality, and with the straight cis-gendered people watching so they may see that acceptance is simply up to whether or not they see their friend as simply the same person they have always been.
