Facebook Pics Equal Felony Charges For Detroit Man

Most of us have a few Facebook pics that show us doing silly things. Some Facebook pics are just downright outrageous. Unfortunately, for one Detroit man, his Facebook pics are going to add felony charges to an already long rap sheet.

With two previous felony charges and convictions, both involving firearms, it seems 20-year-old Denzel Biggs thought it would be a genius idea to post some pictures on Facebook. In these pictures, Biggs can be seen brandishing… you guessed it, firearms. An extra kicker to all of this, Biggs was recently released from prison on July 9, after two-years, for one of his previous convictions. Twelve days later, he posted his first pic.

So when he was arrested again last month, it seems his “hardcore” Facebook pics caught up with him. According to the Detroit Free Press, Biggs was:

“…arrested on August 20 after a Detroit police gang unit saw him crossing the street with a man who appeared to have a bulge in his waistband. It turned out to be a semiautomatic pistol, records show.”

While Biggs could face up to 10-years for this new charge of “illegal firearm possession,” it is the Facebook pics and jailhouse phone admissions that have him looking at more felony charges. Opposing Views reports that:

“Based on the photographs and the conversation Biggs had on the jail’s phone, the FBI says that there is probable cause that Biggs committed the crime of felon in possession.”

This type of stupidity goes beyond youthful mistakes. With his previous record, Biggs does not get that luxury. Hopefully, stories like Biggs’ are seen by our younger generation. Then maybe, just maybe, some would be deterred by the fear of prison time for getting involved in that type of lifestyle.

While Biggs is not the first to face severe consequences due to their Facebook pics or posts, unfortunately, he will most likely not be the last.
