“The Walking Dead” is one of the most popular shows on television, and I admit that I am a huge fan of the series. I have seen every episode since “TWD” first debuted on AMC, and have even binge-watched several episodes when they run marathons of the show.

In New Mexico, however, a man claims that binge-watching “The Walking Dead” made him kill his roommate to prevent the roommate from becoming a zombie.

Police arrived at an apartment complex on Sunday and found 23-year-old Damon Perry holding a knife and being detained by maintenance workers.

In Perry’s apartment, authorities also found the lifeless body of 23-year-old Christopher Paquin.

Perry told officers that he and his roommate had been drinking when Paquin began “to change into a zombie.” Perry said that Paquin tried to bite him during the alleged zombie transformation.

And then, using perhaps one of the most ridiculous motives imaginable, Perry blamed the incident on binge-watching “The Walking Dead” on Netflix.

The would-be zombie killer is being held on a charge of murder, and, in my opinion, should also be charged with being so incredibly stupid that he is a threat to the entire community.
