WATCH: Raw Footage Of Serena Williams Chasing Down Cell Phone Thief

Disclaimer: be very careful if you actually try this yourself. We have to be careful when confronting criminals.

Serena Williams may arguably be the most athletic woman on the Planet Earth. Some people call her one of the greatest tennis players to ever play. But let’s get one thing straight: she does not play when it comes to her cell phone.

A cell phone thief learned this lesson the hard way at a Chinese restaurant in San Francisco. In the footage, you can see Williams enjoying her dinner with a friend when the thief makes his move.

You can plainly see Williams’ phone sitting on the chair beside her. The thief walks over to Williams’ table and pretends to fumble with his coat, before slyly sweeping up the 21-time tennis grand slam winner’s phone. He smoothly walks off, and Williams almost immediately realizes that her phone had been stolen.

In the video, you see Williams give chase to the thief, racing out of the restaurant onto the street where she confronts the thief.

Williams said:

“I jumped up, weaved my way in and out of the cozy restaurant and chased him down.”

When Williams confronts the man, she tells him that she thinks he may have “accidentally” taken her phone. The man appears flustered and apologizes, stating his confusion before scurrying away like a rat into the night.

When asked if she feels like a “superhero,” here’s what Serena said:

“Superhero? Maybe? Or HELL YEA!! I’ve got the speed the jumps, the power, the body, the seduction, the sex appeal, the strength, the leadership and yet the calm to weather the storm.”

She also gives some good life advice to fans:

“Always listen to your superhero inner voice. Always keep your things close! Fight for what’s right. Stand for what you believe in! Be a superhero!”

Williams said that when she re-entered the restaurant she was met with a standing ovation. She said she felt proud and she’d shown every man in the establishment that she can face down anyone who messes with her.

“It was a win for the ladies!” said Williams.

There is an old song by Jim Croce that goes a little something like this:

“You don’t tug on Superman’s cape
You don’t spit into the wind
You don’t pull the mask off that old Lone Ranger
And you don’t mess around with..”

Serena Williams.

You go girl with yo bad self!
