When I was a teenager, I dreamed of being a drummer in a rock and roll band. I would imagine how awesome it would be to unleash all of my raging male hormones onto a drum set like the one used by John Bonham of Led Zeppelin.
Once I realized I had no real talent when it came to music, I began to pursue other interests such as writing and making really bad short movies with my dad’s old 8-millimeter camera.
But I still love to see a great drummer really tear up the skins when he plays. And, even though I’m a middle-aged man, I also admit that I still love the Muppets. Always have and guess I always will.
So Tuesday’s episode of the TV show “The Muppets” was heaven for me. On it, former Nirvana and current Foo Fighters member Dave Grohl appeared and challenged Animal to a drum-off.
Oh hell yeah!
Grohl tells Animal:
“I’ve been waiting years for this, Animal.”
Animal growls back:
“Now we see who BEST.”
Then, for the next minute or so, all you see is lots of hair flying and some incredible drumming by two masters of percussion.
If this doesn’t make your day, then I just don’t understand what’s wrong with you.
