Spice Up Your Playlist With These 5 Christmas Covers

Every year, after the Halloween treats are shared and the Thanksgiving football is watched, we enter the time of Christmas, where gifts are hidden until the twenty-fifth, a grumpy green man’s heart swells three sizes in a day, and the same songs are played over and over again on the radio. You know exactly the ones I mean, too. Bing Crosby croons about the snow in “White Christmas” and Burl Ives wishes us all a “Holly Jolly Christmas.”

While those songs definitely deserve to be classics of the season, they can also become quite grating after a while. So, to counteract the monotony of hearing the Christmas background music, performed the same way, all the time, I’ve compiled a list of five Christmas ditties performed a little differently to spice up your holiday season.

5: Twisted Sister, “Oh Come All Ye Faithful”

4: Trans-Siberian Orchestra, “Carol of the Bells”

3: Dream Theater, “O Holy Night”

2: August Burns Red, “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”

1: Weezer, “We Wish You A Merry Christmas”

And, to bring a smile to all the Scrooges reading this article, I’ve included a bonus just for you!

Corey Taylor, “X-M@$”
